Vertical or horizontal wall bed: which should you choose?
Compare opening direction, wall requirements and the space needed in your room.
Vertical model
A vertical wall bed has its headboard against the wall and opens forwards. Check the ceiling height, wall width and length of clear space in front of the cabinet.
Horizontal model
A horizontal or side-opening model lies along the wall and opens from its side. It can suit rooms with limited height but needs a longer wall. Compare the chosen product’s actual dimensions with the room before deciding.
Compare three measurements
- sleeping area size;
- closed cabinet dimensions;
- the space occupied when the unit is open.

If both options fit, consider the room’s purpose, walkways and required configuration. Check the final layout against the selected model’s specifications.
