Wall bed dimensions: what to consider beyond the mattress
Three separate measurements to check: the mattress, the closed cabinet and the opening area.
1. Bed size
The sizes 90×200, 120×200, 140×200, 160×200 and 180×200 refer to the mattress. They are not the finished cabinet dimensions.
2. Closed cabinet dimensions
Cabinet width, height and depth depend on the chosen model, mechanism, front and additional elements. Use the specific product’s measurements rather than average dimensions.
3. Space required when open
Measure from the wall to the furthest point of the open bed, leaving a comfortable walkway. Account for doors, furniture, radiators and objects that cannot be moved.
How to provide your measurements
- draw an overall room plan;
- record the wall dimensions and ceiling height;
- show skirting, sockets and switches;
- include photographs of the wall and adjacent areas.
