How to choose a wall bed for everyday sleep
Size, mechanism, mattress, room and installation: seven checks before you order.
Start with the room
Choose the installation wall and check the space in front of the future cabinet. The design needs the wall width, ceiling height, skirting, sockets, switches, doors and any other obstacles.
- measure the wall at several points;
- photograph it straight on, avoiding strong perspective distortion;
- mark anything that cannot be moved;
- have a designer check the information before production.
Choose the sleeping area size
Sizes 90×200 and 120×200 are usually considered for one person, while 140×200, 160×200 and 180×200 suit two. These are mattress dimensions, not the finished cabinet’s width and height.
Check the mattress and mechanism
Mattress height and weight affect the system’s operation. Check them against the selected wall bed’s specifications; one model’s limits do not necessarily apply to another.
Choose the mechanism according to bed size, opening direction and use: a bed on its own, with a sofa or with a desk.
Confirm the construction and installation
A specialist should assess the wall material and condition, fixing method, skirting and clearances. Before production, confirm the body, front and upholstery materials using physical samples.
Compare equivalent configurations
Compare the same configuration: cabinet, mechanism, mattress, sofa or desk, additional modules, delivery and assembly. Current pricing or quote information is available in the product catalog.
